Half of law industry is not engaging with review sites.

Firms may be missing out as a result.

The Law gazette is reporting that as many as 50% of law firms are not engaging with review sites such as TrustPilot and Google reviews due to a general wariness of such platforms and their accuracy.

It’s certainly true that review sites are highly subjective and managing “fake” reviews is also a leading concern for practices. However, it would be a huge mistake for firms to ignore such sites, as they carry such sway.

Indeed, bad press can be devastating for any business, but having the opportunity to defend themselves or even rebut a bad review can be just as effective as receiving a positive one.

The SRA has been pushing to drive better competition by improving online information and there’s some evidence to suggest that whilst the industry has been slow initially, headway is now being made in this regard.

In a recent pilot scheme, many firms have commented on the commercial benefits that they’ve experienced as a result of more online engagement with consumers, although the chief executive of the SRA acknowledged that there is still some way to go.
